Care instructions

Minimal care is needed for the supple leathers used to create Rilee shoes. A leather balm is included with each pair. Like all footwear, enough use will wear the rubber heel, which your local cobbler can replace every few years. Rilee shoes are not meant to be disposable.

What sets handcrafted shoes apart?

Machines that mass produce shoes are surprisingly limited in their capabilities.

Factories are restricted to using plastics and fabrics, or highly processed leathers.

Leather is an organic material, so no piece is identical.

Shoe factories often erase all that makes leather such a delightful material, to ensure uniformity for worldwide distribution.

Texture is erased, and replaced with heavy paint. It is stretched paper-thin and cut into many small patterns to reduce costs.

A shoemaker like myself has the luxury and freedom to craft shoes using the finest leathers. The pristine, whole cut shoes will never be found on the shelves of department stores.

From shoemaker to client always.

Anything but means shoes less than perfection.
